Evanston, one of the cities that make up Chicago’s famous North Shore area, is located just 13 miles north of downtown Chicago. Part of Cook County, Evanston occupies four miles of the scenic Lake Michigan shoreline with a population of approximately 75,000. Evanston has a plethora of independently owned boutiques and Old Orchard Center is right next-door in Skokie. From the Farmer’s Market to the Lakeshore Art Festival, there is something to do almost every weekend. The Evanston/Skokie School District provides academic services to students in the city. Students have achieved above the state and national averages on many standardized tests. In addition to Northwestern, Kendall College, Garret-Evangelical Theological Seminary, National-Louis University and Seabury-Western Theological Seminary offer advanced education options.
